McEUEN: Why not remove Resort?

I propose this: That all the buildings along the shore-line of the lake, from the city beach to the Third Street boat ramp, be removed.
The area could then be turned into a longer stretch of public beach, with the goal of connecting the city park to McEuen Field with a foot/bike path.
We could then expand parking to the area now occupied by The Resort to encourage more boat launching.
It's a plan that would actually benefit the people of Coeur d'Alene, but I'm sure someone would have issues with it.
But since that person is outnumbered, he would just have to suck it up, and take one for the community.
