HART: Amazing - and sad - story

| February 11, 2011 9:00 PM

I am simply amazed that Representative Hart is still in office. I was under the impression that a legislator works for the PEOPLE and is supposed to live with a higher standard of ethics than is standard.

During my career in law enforcement, if I had committed any of the violations I have read about in your paper, I would have been fired in a heartbeat. The following questions need to be asked: Did he willfully fail to pay his taxes? Does he accept a paycheck from the government? Does he drive on public roads and use public services? Who does he expect to pay for the services he uses? There is no doubt in my mind that this man is a cancer in the government and should step down from public service or be fired. Whatever happened to unbiased reporting and holding public servants accountable?
