BLESSING: Press absence noted

Well the Coeur d'Alene Press pulled another feather from their hat (pun intended). After the well-written and informative article concerning the upcoming winter blessing, festival and fireworks extravaganza at the Coeur d'Alene Casino Resort, (they failed to follow through).

The winter blessing program at the casino was fabulous, with very colorful native dancers, drums, perfect cadence of the young girl dancers, explanation of the winter blessing and storytelling by the tribal elder (in a wheelchair yet), fry bread and huckleberry jam, and extraordinary front line fireworks display that would rival any domestic Fourth of July in this local area. It is pitiful that The Press couldn't afford to dispatch a correspondent and photographer to cover such a colorful, fabulous, well-presented program.
