PHOTO: Behold acts of kindness

During the holiday season, we need to remind ourselves that even seemingly small acts of kindness can produce a big ripple effect!

Trish Williams, owner of Studio 107 (Fourth and Lakeside) in downtown Coeur d'Alene convinced her friend Marty Krupitsky to submit two beautiful photos to The Press so that others could enjoy them.

The photos, taken from Marty's balcony, show St. Thomas Church and the surrounding hillside in both fall and winter seasons. After The Press ran the fall photo, Trish suggested that Marty make greeting cards using the photos for purchase at Studio 107, and donate the proceeds to the Coeur d'Alene Public Library.

When The Press ran the second photo on the front page above the fold on Dec. 2, with information about where to buy the cards, Trish had people lining up at her door to purchase them! The result? More than $1,200 has been raised for the library to date! We would like to express our deepest thanks to Marty Krupitsky, Trish Williams, Mike Patrick and everyone who has purchased the cards for giving this unexpected gift to the community!
