BOISE (AP) - A 28-year-old woman suspected of trying to get the owner of a missing iPhone to pay $100 for the return of the device is jailed on a felony charge of theft by extortion.

The owner of the phone contacted police in Meridian about 11 p.m. Thursday to report he lost his iPhone at Big Lots earlier in the evening and that his wife was receiving text messages from someone who said they would return the phone for $100 or sell it to someone else for $300.

Meridian police helped the couple exchange text messages, agreed to an $86 payment and scheduled a meeting at a city park at 1 a.m. Friday.

Indira Rahimic was arrested and booked into the Ada County Jail.
