COEUR d'ALENE - Hagadone Hospitality on Thursday announced it has hired Chef Nick Gross as head chef at Beachouse Restaurant on Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Gross has won multiple medalsfrom the American CulinaryFederation and has worked for The Coeur d'Alene Resort for 11 years. He was previously the banquet chef at Beverly's Restaurant.

"It is my pleasure to introduce Nick as head chef," said Jerry Jaeger, president and co-owner of Hagadone Hospitality. "He did a fantastic job at Beverly's and he's bringing that same passion for food to the Beachouse."

Gross said his philosophy includes consistency - making the meals great every time - and using local, sustainably grown items.

"Chef Gross really cares about the process and his food is truly outstanding," said Jan Chadderdon-Olsen, Beachouse manager.

His family includes his wife, Jeanna, and young children Eli and Hannah.

Gross is an accomplished ice sculptor with his own business, Northern Ice Works, and has done ice sculptures for a number of charity events.

"There's a rumor that an ice sculpture or two might be making an appearance this winter at the Beachouse," he said.

Beachouse Restaurant is open daily from 4-10 p.m., located at Silver Beach Marina on Lake Coeur d'Alene.
