North Idaho Gymnastics coming to Rathdrum

RATHDRUM - Marcia Dettmann is opening North Idaho Gymnastics in Rathdrum, 15381 N. Highway 41.

An open house is set for 3-6 p.m. Sept. 2, with the first day of classes on Sept. 6.

The Rathdrum woman has been coaching gymnastics for 12 years, and judging since 2005. She will also be teaching full time this year at the Kootenai Bridge Academy.

North Idaho Gymnastics will be for beginners ages 3 to 11. The focus will be on recreation and fun, not competition.

Dettmann said there is a market for a gymnastics center in Rathdrum. It took her about a year to find the right spot so students in the area won't have to drive far for classes.

"In the winter time it will be so nice to have something in town," she said.

One hour classes once a week start at $35 a month for 3 to 6 year olds.

"I'm trying to make it affordable," Dettmann said.
