Steven Fredrick Allert, 58

Steven Fredrick Allert, 58, passed away Aug. 15, 2011, in Coeur d'Alene following an illness. He was born May 12, 1953, in San Fernando, Calif. Steven was the oldest of three children of Fred and Flo Allert.

Survived by two sisters and their spouses, Debra and Terry Bueck of Post Falls, and Marsha Sundberg and Gary Kendall of Spokane Valley, Wash.; his two nieces, Diana Hood and Jennifer Oaks; dozens of cousins and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Flo Allert.

He enjoyed life and overcame some of its most difficult challenges. Steven liked playing board games and spending time with family and friends. He also participated in the Special Olympics and won some medals from that. For extra income, Steven liked making and selling address labels on his computer.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at Yates Funeral Homes and Crematory, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Post Falls.
