POLICE: Writer targets wrong guys
Regarding the letter from Kelly Niess: After reading your diatribe about the "(in)competency" of the police force in Idaho, I look forward to your diatribe about the person who bears the blame for putting people at risk and is responsible for the "screaming cars" running down the interstate and who, incidentally, was driving the red Dodge Charger that was driving "straight toward you." That is the person who displayed dangerous, stupid and reckless behavior.
Theoretically, if this person had hit you head-on, guess who would be there to help you? The same policemen that were trying to apprehend the person who was driving in a reckless manner; they in turn would call for the paramedics to come to your assistance. The policemen, firemen, paramedics and rescue personnel in this area are TRAINED to protect all citizens, whether they live in this area or come from some other state or country.
Thank goodness their jobs will not depend on your decision, as you indicated that you would fire them all. I might add I'm a PROUD grandmother of a professional firefighter back east, and I recognize and I am aware of the TRAINING of these fine people, who put their lives on the line and are dedicated to their work.
