DIRNE: Worth the investment

Ahhh, the great debate over "health care for everyone" and how to pay for it! While the battle rages on between political parties about how to accomplish such an enormous task, health clinics within communities (like Dirne Clinic) are offering solutions by providing health care to everyone based on ability to pay. Hey, that sounds a lot like "health care for everyone" and since the system is already in place, would there be a need for radical changes to taxation?

So why is funding for these existing health care solutions being slashed by one hand of government while the other hand is writing new policies to fund health care through more expensive methods? Every dollar of government funding provided to Dirne Clinic gets multiplied through volunteer efforts, fundraising events and grants from foundations and other donors. This means more bang for the buck!

We should all write to our representatives in Congress to let them know how important it is to continue funding Community Health Centers.
