CONGRESS: That's a big C, please

| August 5, 2011 10:00 PM

Not to be a nitpicker, but did The Press make a typo in Monday's front page story? The headline in Monday's edition read "Obama, congress strike deal." Halfway through the story on page A4, the word "Congress" is capitalized as it's supposed to be when it refers to a specific congress, namely the current 112th. Perhaps the front-page editor was dropping a not-so-subtle hint that the current legislative body is not doing a very good job and is lacking some respect by this newspaper. If so, such an opinion is better left to the editorial pages. In this writer's humble opinion, I think the president is equally deserving of such disrespect and the headline should have begun with his name in lower case as well.

Editor's note: We appreciate nitpickers, and you're correct that "Congress" should have been capitalized in the headline. The error was a brain cramp, not a political statement.
