McEUEN: Column an instant classic
Gail Jensen, you hit the nail right on the head! Just think about it. Those businesses on Front Street don't own the buildings. LCDC couldn't care less if they go belly up during the construction phase of the mayor's great endeavor to rid the town of the Third Street launch and those pesky ball players. Why, they are building for the businesses they want in downtown not those that are there.
They did the same thing in mid-town. It will take two maybe three years before you'll be able to get traffic flow back in place and by then who knows what kind of stores will be in service? I'll bet the mayor knows! I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't have a list on paper. Yes sir, pack your bags folks and prepare to move out cause you gave her the power to do as she wishes. I mean, didn't you vote her in?
I'll bet the 26 percent who voted own buildings in the downtown area, even if they live in Canada.
Lord love a duck, ain't this something?
