Sunrise on opportunity

| April 24, 2011 9:00 PM

Today is a day of resurrection, remembrance and renewal.

It's Easter, and for Christians around the world, it's a glorious day to remember the miracle that saved mankind.

Even as bright white snowflakes have mingled with darkening green spring grass in the Coeur d'Alene area lately, we're reminded that Easter also is a time of personal renewal. This is a great day to remember that we have the ability to breathe new life into what we might have considered dead or dormant.

Maybe it's a good time to reconcile something that troubles you, like a relationship that once was important and could be again; like a project that you abandoned but your mind hasn't completely let go; or maybe it's just a good time to look at how your New Year's resolutions are going, and if you're not getting the exercise you promised yourself 16 weeks ago or improving something else, why, that vow can now be renewed again with vigor.

The passage from deep sleep to wakefulness, on so many levels, is worth celebrating.

Happy Easter, North Idaho.
