SENTENCE: Just doesn't fit crime

| April 15, 2011 10:00 PM

In reference to Fritz Maier's comment to Amanda Skogen's sentencing, I also am in awe of the lengthy sentence given to a young lady who did what I am sure hundreds of people have done themselves. It clearly was a reaction to the moment and as far as I can see it, it was an accident. Unfortunately the life of a sweet little boy was lost but I do not feel that Amanda premeditated this action.

I am not sure why you (Judge) would give such a lengthy sentence for an accident.

There are predators out there who prey on people and take lives on purpose, yet they are lucky to serve a six-month sentence then they are out and committing the same crimes over and over.

If you ask me your sentence is very unfair. Maybe you were having a bad day or something but seriously? Why don't others get this type of sentence? Unfair is an understatement. How do you sleep at night?
