BUDGET: Motives murky as ever

I am listening to the headlines as rightly-so-very-concerned politicians try to balance our grossly over-bloated budget. And my question is always, "What is in it for those who WANT to spend us into oblivion? If our once-great nation collapses, then what? WHAT'S IN IT FOR THEM - President Obama, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, to name a few?"

We don't even have enough private wealth to sustain this! Please enlighten me; I want to know!
