POST FALLS - Twelve RVs were broken into and the flat-screen TVs inside were stolen at a Post Falls dealership late Monday night or early Tuesday morning.

The TVs at Blue Dog RV near the Greyhound Park and Event Center ranged from 26 to 52 inches in size and are valued between $500 and $1,000 each, Post Falls police Capt. Pat Knight said.

"The suspects damaged the cabinetry and cut wires connecting the televisions to the walls," Knight said. "By looking at the doors to the RVs, it would appear a pair of channel locks were used to break the door handle locks. Once the suspects made entry, they targeted the flat-screen televisions."

"The subjects knew exactly what they were going in for," Knight said.

That same morning, four auto burglaries were reported in the area of Treaty Rock Estates and Prairie Falls Golf Course. Miscellaneous items such as iPods and cash were stolen.

In three of the four burglaries, the vehicles were unlocked.

"Officers saw two people wearing black prowling around cars and chased the suspects on foot around 2 a.m.," Knight said. "A K-9 tracked them for two blocks before it lost the track."

Knight said investigators are not sure whether the RV and auto burglaries are related.

An investigation continues.
