DAR chapter celebrates constitution week

COEUR d'ALENE - The Lt. George Farragut chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution commemorated the 223rd anniversary of the signing of the Constitution at its meeting on Sept. 17.

Members joined Americans across the country in ringing bells at 1 p.m. Those attending enjoyed a cake decorated for the occasion by prospective member Mary Spray.

Constitution Week Chairman Pamela Thoms placed several displays in the community, including one at the Hayden Library.

DAR's mission is to promote patriotism, education and historical preservation. Constitution Week was celebrated Sept. 17-23.
