Roy C. Gant, 76

Roy C. Gant, 76, was born Sept. 28, 1933, to Mabel (Larson) and Deed Gant in Spokane. Roy passed away on Sept. 24, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center.

Roy attended high school in Coeur d'Alene. He served in the U.S.A.F from 1951-1955. He graduated from NIC and Gonzaga with a B.S. in criminal justice. He joined the Cd'A Police Department in 1957 and retired on a medical disability in 1978. Roy enjoyed golfing, fishing, Reno and the local casinos. He also was a member of the Eagles lodge.

Roy is survived by his wife Pat; son David and Michelle Gant of Kent, Wash.; daughters Gail

Thompson of Smelterville and Pam and Dan Knapp of Chilco, ID; sister Beverly and Jim Woodworth of Post Falls; brother Don and Caroly Gant of Spokane Valley; grandchildren Andrew and Katie Thompson, Nick and Aimee Gant, Kelly Paul and Shane Knapp and great-grandchildren Chloe, Jenna and Austin.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Bob Gant and sister Margery Kimbley.
