Halladay helps Phils clinch NL East

Roy Halladay earned his 21st win with his fourth shutout and ninth complete game - all highs in the majors this season - and Jayson Werth drove in four runs, leading the visiting Philadelphia Phillies to a 8-0 victory over the Washington Nationals on Monday night, wrapping up the division with five games left.Halladay (21-10) heads to the playoffs for the first time in his 13th major league season, having played his entire career with the Toronto Blue Jays before being traded to Philadelphia last winter.

Cardinals 6, Pirates 4: Matt Holliday homered and drove in three runs as host St. Louis beat Pittsburgh, staying in the NL Central race for at least one more day.Dodgers 3, Rockies 1: At Denver, Ted Lilly scattered four hits over eight innings and Los Angeles prevented Ubaldo Jimenez from getting his 20th win.

Cubs 1, Padres 0: Carlos Zambrano won his seventh straight decision since rejoining Chicago's rotation, combining with two relievers on a four-hitter, and the visiting Cubs held on to beat San Diego.

Braves 2, Marlins 1: Omar Infante singled home the winning run with two outs in the 11th and host Atlanta kept up its push for the NL wild-card spot, beating Florida.

Milwaukee at New York Mets, ppd, rain: The game between the Brewers and Mets was rained out. The game will be made up as part of a twi-night doubleheader Wednesday.

Blue Jays 7, Yankees 5: Vernon Wells hit a three-run homer, John Buck added a solo shot and host Toronto pounded A.J. Burnett, then held on to beat New York.

Indians 6, Tigers 3: Andres Galarraga went from unhittable to giving up three homers in an 18-pitch span and host Cleveland beat Detroit.Orioles 4, Rays 0: At St. Petersburg, Fla., Nick Markakis drove in two runs with a triple and a single to lead Baltimore past Tampa Bay.

Red Sox 6, White Sox 1: Clay Buchholz outpitched Mark Buehrle and visiting Boston beat Chicago.Royals 10, Twins 8: Jarrod Dyson hit his first major league home run and caught 10 fly balls in center field, helping host Kansas City beat Minnesota.

Angels 6, Athletics 5: At Anaheim, Calif., Oakland pitcher Justin James allowed two runs in the ninth and Los Angeles beat the Athletics.
