Blessing of animals scheduled Saturday

The annual Blessing of the Animals is 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday at the Kootenai Humane Society Thrift Store, 916 3rd St., Coeur d'Alene

There will be a microchip clinic, raffle prizes and a bake sale. KHS invites "all creatures greaet and small" for this free, non-denominational blessing by local clergy members.The event is in rememberance of St. Francis of Assisi, who was known for his love of all creatures.
