J.C. Dunn, 85

In loving memory of J.C. Dunn born Jan. 2, 1925, and died Sept. 17, 2010.

J.C. fondly known as "Jay " among his close family members grew up in Tennessee, served in WWII in the U.S. Navy as a navigator on the U.S.S. Requin submarine and on a Destroyer Escort De-447. He also served in the U.S. Navy in the Korean Conflict on an aircraft carrier as a navigator again. He went to the University of Tennessee and earned his Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering and worked for Bechtel Corporation in the Petroleum Division until he retired. He also had two other master degrees and had traveled all over the world many times and spoke five different languages.

He was an avid read and has written several books and was a poet. He enjoyed the Opera, Theatre, dancing, the outdoors, golfing, painting, singing in the choir as well as gardening and many other hobbies that he had.

J.C. passed away peacefully at By the Lake St. James in Hayden; thank you to all the employees there that loved him like he was part of their family. Thank you to North Idaho Hospice and all of their support and mostly thank you to the loving care by Dr. Susan Melchiore.

Survivors are his son, Miles B. Dunn, who lives in Houston, Texas, and his daughter whom cared for him, JenniferAnne K. Parker RN, living locally here in Coeur d'Alene. His surviving sister is Frances Moyle and her husband John Moyle in Charlotte, N.C. Surviving grandsons are Blake Dunn, Jay Lowe, Brandon Kosiancic and Shane Parker.

We all loved him so much and may he rest in peace.
