Core state standards meeting tonight at NIC

Officials from the Idaho State Department of Education will be at North Idaho College tonight hosting a public meeting on the proposed K-12 Common Core State Standards for mathematics and English language arts.

The meeting, which is open to the public, takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. in NIC's Edminster Student Union Building. Similar meetings have already been held in other regions of the state.

The Common Core State Standards are available on the State Department of Education's website at www.sde.idaho.gov/site/common/. People may also submit comments in writing by fax at (208) 334-2228 or by mail at P.O. Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0027.
