William H. Davis, 83

William H. Davis was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Glenridge, N.J., to Harold Albert and Gladys (Meehan) Davis. He passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2010, at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d'Alene.

He was married to Dorothy Jane Miller on Sept. 27, 1971, in Saranac Lake, N.Y. They came to Coeur d'Alene in 1974 and always enjoyed the beauty of the area. Before coming out west, he was a College Math Professor. He later worked for the Washington State Patrol as a communications technician. During this time they lived in Ellensburg, Wash., and also the Seattle area. Bill and Dorothy planned to return to Coeur d'Alene after Bill's retirement. They returned to Coeur d'Alene in 2005.

Bill was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many capacities including Temple Ordinance Worker, Financial Clerk, Employment Specialist and Home Teacher. He was dedicated, diligent and faithful in his service.

He is survived by his daughter, Pamela Davis of Coeur d'Alene. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and wife.

He was a gracious, patient and understanding Dad to Pamela. He was loved very much and will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, before the funeral service. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Coeur d'Alene Stake Center, 2801 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene, ID 83814. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene, is in charge of the arrangements.
