Lesley Jean Pierson, 68

Lesley Jean Pierson, 68, passed away in Post Falls, on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010. Lesley was born in Kellogg on May, 28, 1942, to Walt and Eleanor (Collonello) Chaney. She lived in the North Idaho Panhandle area her entire life; Kellogg, Smelterville and in Post Falls since 1983.

Lesley married Gene Pierson on June 6, 1964, in Kellogg.

She was a homemaker and a teacher.

She was a member of the Catholic Church; St. Rita's in Kellogg and St. George's in Post Falls. She served on the Kellogg School Board. She loved golf, walking and playing Bridge, but most of all she loved her family and friends. Lesley was a very special grandmother to her eight grandkids: Tate, Karley, Kayleigh, Emily, Eli, Brooke, Gabriella and Jerrett.

She is survived by her husband, Gene of Post Falls; son Steven Pierson of Camby, Ore.; sisters, Renie (Peter) Cannava of Soldotna, Alaska, and Hope (Ron) Braun of Spokane Valley, Wash. She is also survived by her grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. And three very special friends, Sally, Nancy, Julie and numerous others.

Lesley is preceded in death by her son, Matthew Pierson; Mom: Grandma "G.G" Eleanor Chaney and Dad: Walt Chaney.

Memorials may be made to Right to Life in Spokane, Wash., or St. Georges Parish in Post Falls or any charity of the donor's choice in honor or Lesley.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at St. George Catholic Church, in Post Falls. The graveside service will be at 3 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg. English Funeral Chapel, Post Falls, is in charge of the arrangements.
