Harlene Frances Ripley, 75

Harlene Frances Ripley, 75, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Sept. 19, 2010, at her home of Coeur d'Alene. She was born April 16, 1935, in Deadwood, S.D. Harlene was the daughter of James and Lillian (Bucholz) Ahartz.

Harlene attended and graduated from the Wallace High School in 1953. She then attended the University of Idaho, where she met her husband, Douglas Ripley. Harlene married Douglas Ripley on Aug. 13, 1955, in Wallace.

After her marriage, Harlene and Douglas left this area for employment and had lived in Southern and Northern California, Nevada, Oregon and Utah. After Douglas passed away in 2004, Harlene returned to Coeur d'Alene in 2005 to be near her family.

Harlene was a homemaker and a mother and had also worked as a secretary for various companies.

Harlene loved and enjoyed entertaining guests in her home.

Harlene is survived by one daughter and her husband, Pam and Lance Beeny of Cove, Utah; one son and his wife, Aiden and Donna Ripley of Post Falls; two grandchildren Tara and Devon Beeny of Cove; two sisters and their husbands, Cara Nadine and Jim Jaeger of Osburn, Judie and Phil Maakestad of Renton, Wash.; her brother-in-law and his wife, Larry and Judy Ripley of Boise. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Douglas Ripley and one son, Eric Ripley.

Rosary services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, at the St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kellogg. The funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2010, at the St. Rita's Catholic Church with Father Tom Loucks serving as celebrant. Burial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery in Kellogg.
