TWIN FALLS - Kaylee Ponce had 17 kills, Kyona Hunt added 20 digs and No. 17 North Idaho College finished Friday at the College of Southern Idaho Invitational with a 27-25, 25-22, 37-35 sweep of Northwest Community College.

"Northwest was struggling and just wanted a win, but we held in and never gave up," NIC coach Colleen Frohlich said. "A win like that is nice to build confidence, but at the same time we like to take care of teams early."

Earlier in the day, NIC swept Snow 25-19, 25-17, 25-18. Gabriella Rifilato had 38 of her 78 assists on the day vs. Snow and the Cardinals (12-4) benefitted from the return of Fei Gao, who had been struggling with injures. Gao had 12 kills in the first match, 22 on the day.

"It was nice to have Fei back in the lineup with what she adds offensively and with ball control," Frohlich said.

NIC faces Frank Phillips today at 1 p.m., followed by Navarro at 3.
