Reagan Republicans rally on street corner

| September 17, 2010 5:30 AM

A public protest is planned to oppose the Obama Administration’s and Rep. Walter Minnick's positions on firearms by the Kootenai County Reagan Republicans at 2 p.m. today. The group will gather on the southeast corner of Lakewood and Northwest Boulevard in Coeur d’Alene.

Billed as the Constitution Day Protest for Our Second Amendment Rights, the event is described by KCRR Vice President Ron Lahr as “exercising our First Amendment Rights of Speech, Assembly and Petitions to protect our Second Amendment Rights to Keep and Bear Arms.” The event will protest Minnick’s D rating from the National Rifle Association.

Lahr said of Minnick “This is a guy who carries a shotgun as a prop in his commercials but would have the Federal Government come into my home and confiscate my guns. It is the definition of hypocrisy.”
