ALLRED: Right choice for governor

| September 17, 2010 5:37 AM

Keith Allred is the brightest star on the ticket for Idaho's next governor. Raised in Twin Falls, he worked his family's 1,200-acre ranch during summers and went on to earn a Ph.D. at UCLA.

Keith taught his specialty, conflict resolution and leadership at Columbia University and Harvard's Kennedy School of Government. Then he returned to Idaho, followed his heart and put his ideas to work as the founder and president of Common Interest. Here he gathered Republicans, Democrats and Independents - ordinary citizens like you and me - to help resolve difficult issues of legislation.

Among many other things, we can already thank him for persuading the legislature not to raise fees on car and pickup registrations 138 percent during a recession. With the economy as a huge issue right now, I am impressed by his strategy to grow Idaho's economy. He wants to lower Idaho's overall tax rates by ending ineffective special interest tax exemptions. Visit his website at www.allredforidaho.com and learn more about this energetic and broadminded family man who wants to make our lives better in this great state.
