| September 16, 2010 9:00 PM

RATHDRUM - Rathdrum Police Chief Kevin Fuhr was presented the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training's executive certificate during the City Council meeting Tuesday night.

The certificate is the highest to be awarded to peace officers in the state.

Fuhr was appointed Rathdrum's chief in February 2007.

He presently serves as vice president for the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association, the chairman of the North Idaho College Law Enforcement Advisory Committee, a member of the FBI National Academy Associates and as a Rotarian.

Fuhr has met the requirements by being in an executive position for more than three years and having attended more than 100 hours of executive-level training, 50 of which had to be completed within the past three years.

"I have attended the executive level training to help me be a better leader within this department," Fuhr said.
