Trojans strike early, top Bears

MOSCOW - The visiting Post Falls Trojans scored three goals in the first 25 minutes - two by Finess White - then held on to beat the Moscow Bears 3-2 on Tuesday.

"The first half we came out hard," Post Falls coach Becky Thompson said. "We've been working on trying to pace the game right from the start - come out in first five minutes and try to make an impact."

White scored in the eighth and 25th minutes, and Alexis Smith scored in the 16th minute for Post Falls (4-3-2), which travels to Sandpoint on Thursday.

COEUR d'ALENE - Chris Wheelock scored three goals as the Timberwolves defeated the Crusaders in a nonleague match at the Irma Anderl Soccer Complex.

"Our energy was a little sub-par in the first half, but we picked it up nicely in the second half," Lake City coach Chad Beadell said. "Tanner Horton had an amazing game for us today and had a couple huge stops when we needed them. Chris having three goals for us was also huge."

Horton had two saves for Lake City (5-1), which travels to Coeur d'Alene today at 4:30 p.m.
