'Jacks glad to have Gladden

PRIEST RIVER - Sophomore middle blocker Mariah Gladden served four aces to go along with eight kills and six blocks for the St. Maries Lumberjacks in the 25-19, 25-8, 25-13 victory over the Priest River Spartans in Intermountain League play Tuesday night.

"When she's on, she's on," St. Maries coach Missy Asbury said. "That is one of the best games I have ever seen Mariah play. She served tough, blocked defensively and hit the ball well which really brought her confidence up,"

Tia Asbury tallied 16 digs, Jaylee Sines 20 assists and Marlee Masterson eight kills for the Lumberjacks (11-3, 2-0 IML), who play Thursday at Kellogg.

Kelsey Lederle and Morgan Stewart each came up with 12 digs and Steffie Pavey recorded 16 assists for Priest River (2-8, 0-1 IML).

Lake City

SANDPOINT - Junior middle blocker Ashley Shepard hammered home a season-high 10 kills, including a couple big points in the fifth game, to lead the Bulldogs to a hard-fought 19-25, 25-14, 24-26, 25-23, 15-13 win over the Timberwolves at Les Rogers Court.

Mackenzie Jones added 26 assists, Blake Plaster 22 digs and Sam Buratto five aces for the Bulldogs (3-1).

Jennifer Schuman swatted a match-high 17 kills to lead Lake City (4-5), MacKenzie Brown added 12 digs and five aces, Camille Rounds 34 assists and Carly Farrell three blocks in defeat.

"In the beginnings of games we're making a few unforced errors," said Lake City coach Bret Taylor of the difference in the game. "I'm proud of the team and the effort that they put forth. We'll keep building; it's not now, it's the end."

Lake City plays host to Moscow on Thursday.

Lakeland

MOSCOW - Talia Chandler had eight kills, Amy Westberg 20 digs for the host Bears in the 27-25, 25-13, 25-23 victory over the Hawks in 4A Inland Empire League play at Bear Den.

Taylor Charles had 11 assists for Moscow (1-1 4A IEL).

Kaitlyn Whitesitt had six kills, Erin Ogden 18 digs, Sonora Wilkes 10 assists for Lakeland (1-11, 0-1).

"We didn't play up to our level, and we had a lot of unforced errors," Lakeland assistant coach Tarra Anderson said.

Lakeland plays host to Sandpoint on Thursday.

Bonners Ferry

SPIRIT LAKE - Brooke Murray had four aces, Jen Munson three and the host Tigers totaled 13 aces in beating the Badgers 25-12, 25-17, 25-10 in Intermountain League play.

Kelly Madsen had seven kills and five digs for Timberlake (5-2, 1-1 IML). Munson and Hannah Moseley had four kills each, Murray had 11 assists, Amanda Swanson nine digs.

"I thought we played good defense; we protected our court well," Timberlake coach Michelle Garwood said. "We didn't have very many missed serves (four), and we served well."

For Bonners Ferry (2-4, 0-2), Ivy Dirks had 11 assists, Olivia Langs nine digs, Markayle Acord five kills and two blocks.

Timberlake plays Freeman and Riverside on Thursday in Chattaroy, Wash.

Cd'A Charter

COEUR d'ALENE - Mariah Miller had 10 digs and seven kills to lead the visiting Wampus Cats past the Panthers 25-17, 25-17, 25-20 in nonleague play at Holy Family Catholic School.

Celeste Komanec had 24 assists, Brocklynn Thornton and Claire McMahon five kills each, and Annie Wurm four aces for Clark Fork.

Emily Verhaeghe had five kills and five digs for Coeur d'Alene Charter (0-5). Alyssa Cozzens had four blocks, Brianna Marshall three kills and three digs, Paige Kelly three blocks.

"We need to focus on teamwork and fundamentals, and everything else will fall into place," Charter coach Chris Smith said.

Coeur d'Alene Charter plays at Kootenai on Thursday.

HARRISON FLATS - Amanda Pehan had 10 kills and Emily Vester added 11 digs to lead Wallace past Kootenai 23-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11 in North Star League play.

Olivia Kincheloe had 10 digs and five aces for Kootenai, which received 10 kills from Rachel McHail and 14 assists from Anna Parker.

Kootenai (0-3, 0-3 NSL) hosts Coeur d'Alene Charter on Thursday. Wallace is 2-3, 1-1.

Mullan

MULLAN - Jennifer Mitchell had 15 assists and three aces as the visiting Knights defeated the Tigers 25-22, 25-19, 25-11 in North Star League play at the Pavilion.

Joelle Miller added nine kills and three blocks for Lakeside (3-0, 3-0 NSL). Francine Hendrickx had six digs, Maria Garcia four aces, Kyndra McCully four kills for the Knights, who play host to Clark Fork on Thursday.

Mullan dipped to 1-2, 0-2.

N. Idaho Christian

COEUR d'ALENE - Hannah McCauley had eight kills and three blocks for the host Royals in a 25-20, 25-20, 25-15 loss to the Thunder in Mountain Christian League action at Project CDA.

Kaitlyn Mowry had eight assists for North Idaho Christian (1-1 MCL, 1-1), which travels to Edwall, Wash., on Thursday to play Christian Heritage.
