CATHOLICS: Where is the justice?

| September 15, 2010 5:32 AM

In a recent interview with Inland NW News in Spokane, Blase Cupich, new Catholic Diocese Bishop, laid out his plan to "help renew the Catholic Church in Spokane."

He claims that, "Sexual abuse of children is not happening in the church today ... 30 years ago, the world of psychology, criminal law and the church didn't handle the situation well. Society didn't handle the situation well."

Incredible! Talk about spreading the blame! The "world of psychology?" And "society?" How general and evasive is that?

When asked, "How should the Spokane Cathlic Diocese deal with this wound?" He answered, "This diocese has called for victims to come forward for healing, and we will continue to do that. I have every intention of meeting personally with any victim of sexual abuse by a priest and will continue to reach out to them."

I ask, what on Earth will his "reaching out" accomplish? Quit hiding these monsters and let the law deal with them. Why aren't they in prison or on the way? Where is the justice for the victims?

Cupich goes on to rationalize why the Catholic Church is losing ground with its parishioners. Hello? When asked how this trend can be reversed, he said, "We need to be more aggressive in our hospitality..." Where did they find this guy?

Right now, you couldn't pay me to send (sacrifice?) my children to this hideous organization's schools. How do people justify it?
