Amelia “Amy” (Evangelisti) Benoit, 93

On Sept. 9, 2010, Amelia passed away at the age of 93. She was born in Fresno, Calif., to Alexander and Mary Nickolie. She met and later married Lawrence Evangelisti on Feb. 16,1941, and on Christmas day two years later their twin daughters Sandra and Sharon were born. They were married for 21 years and then divorced. On Nov. 25, 1964, she married Joseph Timothy "Tim" Benoit and they were married until his death in May 2004.

She worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a clerk for 30 years and retired in 1981. After Tim's death, she moved to Idaho to be with her daughters and their families.

She loved baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. She always looked forward to baseball season and could tell you any statistic on any team. She loved to sit and watch a baseball game and talk baseball with her grandsons and son-in-law.

Amy is survived by her twin daughters Sandra (Dale) Bunch and Sharon Banducci. She is also survived by her grandsons Bobby, Brian (Cari), Brent (Liz) Bunch and Todd (Babette) and Tommy (Kim) Banducci. Other survivors are great grandchildren Blake, Brandon, Brooklynn, Quinton, Paxon, Alex, Nic, and Madison Bunch; Paul (Mary), Marcus, and Allie Banducci. Her sister and brother-in-law Evelyn and Joseph Conley, nieces Karen (Jim) Backlund, Janice (Tom) Naiman and nephew Jim (Earline) Ragsdale.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband Tim Benoit, and her sisters Audrey Cox and Lee Ragsdale and niece Donna Reed.

Amy will be missed by all that knew her and especially by her daughters, son-in-law, grandsons, and their families.

A celebration of her life will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the home of Dale and Sandy Bunch. A graveside memorial service will be held in October in Roseville, Calif.
