| September 12, 2010 9:00 PM

COEUR d'ALENE - Since Friday evening, the Coeur d'Alene Police Department has been searching for a dangerous male fugitive believed to be in the Coeur d'Alene area, according to a department press release.

The San Bernardino (Calif.) Sheriff's Department provided a tip to local authorities that fugitive Cory Andrew Dearing Sr., 52, might be in Kootenai County visiting relatives, police said. Dearing is charged with conspiracy to commit murder. The tip arrived at 6 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, San Bernardino authorities confirmed through witnesses that Dearing was at a residence on Woodside Avenue around 5 p.m., police said. Dearing left prior to local officers arriving. He was also confirmed to have been at a residence in Hayden on Tessa Way, some time afterward, according to the press release.

Coeur d'Alene police officers, the North Idaho Violent Crimes Task Force and Kootenai County Sheriff's Department are assisting San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department and the US Marshalls Service Task Force in the search.

California law enforcement authorities confirmed a $1 million bond for Dearing, police said. Dearing has an alias of Cory Andrew Dearing and Cory Andrew Dovering. He may be using a California driver's license.

The warrant for his arrest was issued out of Riverside County, police said. Dearing is connected to a white supremacy group; seven members of that group were arrested last spring in southern California, according to the press release.

He is possibly in the company of an adult female by the first name of "Noreen," police said. The vehicle he is driving is described as a smaller, 4x4 pickup, light gray or blue in color. Authorities advise extreme caution if anyone comes into contact with Dearing. A reward for information leading to his arrest has been offered by the US Marshals Service.

This case has resulted in the convictions of other suspects involved in the conspiracy, the press release noted.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cory Dearing is asked to call the Coeur d'Alene Police at (208) 769-2320.
