Prangley to face Jardine tonight in Shark Fights 13

Shark Fights light heavyweight champion and Coeur d'Alene resident Trevor Prangley (22-6-1) will face Keith Jardine (15-8-1) tonight in the main event of Shark Fights 13, a mixed martial arts event at the Civic Center Coliseum in Amarillo, Texas.

"It's a huge fight for both of them," Prangley's sparring partner Richard Abbey said. "Keith just left the UFC and this is his first event since leaving. He knocked out Chuck Liddell, so he'll be a tough draw. Trevor needs to win to keep his career going."

Prangley came from Cape Town, South Africa, to wrestle at North Idaho College in 1996, wrestling for the Cardinals in 1997-98. He finished as runner-up at nationals in 1998, suffering a torn left ACL in a national championship match in 1998 and finished second.

It will be a non-title bout.

Prangley co-owns and operates Lion's Den Gym, a mixed-martial arts and fitness school in Hayden.

The undercard for tonight's event will be available at www.sharkfights.com.

Club 41 in Post Falls is hosting a community gathering for anyone interested in watching the fights. The main card is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Prangley's bout is the fifth on the main card.
