Rathdrum Adventure Race set for Saturday

RATHDRUM - The third Rathdrum Adventure Race will be held on Saturday starting at 8 a.m. on Main Street in front of Rathdrum City Hall.

The event includes a 22-mile bike on Rathdrum Mountain, 5.5-mile kayak ride on Upper and Lower Twin Lakes and a 6-mile run. It ends at City Park.

Registration is $45 for individuals and $80 for three-person teams. Registrations can be accepted at www.rathdrummountainadventurerace.com through tonight or from 6:30-7:30 a.m. the day of the race. Forms are available at the Rathdrum chamber or parks and recreation office, both on Main Street.

There will be a spaghetti dinner on Friday at City Park from 5-7 p.m. Cost is $7 and proceeds benefit Boy Scouts. Race packets can be picked up at the park from 6-8 p.m. Friday or before the race.

There will be activities at City Park throughout the day on Saturday, including a farmers market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., duck races in the creek, live owl display, beer garden and appearance from Smoky the Bear.

The awards ceremony for the race will be held at 1:30 p.m.

The kids run has been cancelled.
