Moments of Clarity concert announced

| September 10, 2010 9:00 PM

One week from tonight, world music will fill the Jacklin Arts & Cultural Center in Post Falls.

Michael and Keleren Millham will open for popular local group Moments of Clarity, starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, available at the door. Because of MOC's popularity, the concert is expected to be a sellout, so patrons should plan on arriving a little early.

The Millhams, performing as Sidhe, feature European-American fingerstyle guitar and lush vocals. To sample their music and learn more about the duo, go to www.guitarandvoice.com.

Over the past 15 years, Moments of Clarity has played throughout the West Coast and released three albums in a five-year span: Around the Fire in 1997, Building a Sun in 1999 and, two years later, Momentum, a two-disc CD.

A review in The Press from Aug. 5, 2006, said this about MOC:

"Few venues could provide a fusion of sound and atmosphere the way the south stage at NIC's Art on the Green gave Moments of Clarity's performance Friday evening. Formed in Coeur d'Alene in 1996, Moments of Clarity specializes in an eclectic mix of instrumental sounds that includes, but is not limited to, African tribal drumming, Celtic and Indian melodies and ambient electronic effects.

This time around, the audience will hear Darin Schaffer, Tom Taylor, Scott Hampton, David Smith and Paul Hacker-Brumley. The band features a wild assortment of instruments, including looping bass, bowed guitar, didgeridoo, djembe and more.
