Mead edges Coeur d'Alene

COEUR d’ALENE — McKayla Anderson scored on an unassisted goal in the 62nd minute to give the Mead Panthers a 2-1 win over the Coeur d’Alene Vikings in a nonleague match Wednesday.

“I was extremely proud of the way the girls played,” Coeur d’Alene coach Tarragh Carr said. “Other than a two-minute lapse in efficiency, we played a really, really solid game. We rested some legs and worked some others, but all around I was really proud of the way the girls played.”

Caelyn Orlandi scored on an assist by Sydney Kohles in the fifth minute for Coeur d’Alene (4-1), which travels to Post Falls on Saturday.

SPOKANE — Senior Tiara Pajimola had two goals to lead the Highlanders past the Hawks in a nonleague match at Joe Albi Stadium.

Lakeland senior goalkeeper Kerstyn Ward had 10 saves for Lakeland (2-5), which travel to West Valley on Friday.

CLARK FORK — Kelly Madsen had eight kills, 16 digs and seven aces as the Tigers defeated the Wampus Cats 25-18, 25-27, 25-17, 17-25, 15-8 in a nonleague match.

“It was a long match, but I thought we played well,” Timberlake coach Michelle Garwood said. “We fought for each point and played well as a team and kept the momentum toward our court.”

Brooke Murray had 55 assists, Madison Hauck seven kills and Amanda Swanson 15 digs for Timberlake (3-0), which hosts Kellogg tonight.
