They were married in St. Regis, Mont., in September 1946. In addition to raising four children, Mavis held a variety of jobs. Lou's Broken Wheel Cafe employed her as a waitress/cook for several years. Over the years, Mavis held a variety of positions at the Sunshine Inn, waitress/cook/manager-bookkeeper.

Mavis loved to cook and her divinity and rocky road recipes were the envy of many. Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays were always a special time for her and her family. While residing at assisted living, she looked forward to her shopping outings and playing Bingo. She met each new day with a prayer and a smile. Mavis loved and cherished her family and her greatest wish was for them to be HAPPY.
