Doris Mae Marshall, 83

Doris Mae Marshall, 83, of Coeur d'Alene, passed away Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at Life Care Center Post Falls.

She was born April 21, 1927, to John and Bessie (Fountain) Stober in River Junction, Iowa. She was the youngest of five children. Doris graduated from Lone Tree High School in 1946. On Aug. 20, 1946, she married Maynard Marshall in Seattle, Wash. They moved to Post Falls in 1952 from Iowa/California.

Doris enjoyed embroidery, making quilts, word search puzzles, camping and visiting with her family. She enjoyed traveling, especially to Iowa to visit family and old friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce (Loren) Peterson of Post Falls; daughter Pat (Jim) Carney of Coeur d'Alene; Michael (Pat) Marshall of McMinnville, Ore.; and Jack Marshall of Post Falls. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law, Ramona Bell of Iowa City, Iowa, and Dorothy Evans of Kalona, Iowa, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Maynard Marshall in 2000. Also preceding her were two brothers Grant Stober and one in infancy, sisters Edith Sholly and Martha Schnoebelen and one nephew Duane Schnoebelen.

The family would like to give special thanks to Fairwinds, Life Care Center Post Falls, River City Hospice and the Staff of CDA Family Medicine.

Visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d'Alene. The funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens Chapel, 7315 N. Government Way, with Pastor Kevin Howard officiating, burial to follow. A reception will follow the service at English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene. English Funeral Chapel, Coeur d'Alene is in charge of the arrangements.
