Indians win regular season finale

PASCO, Wash. - Jacob Skole's RBI triple to right field brought home Leonardo Reyes with an insurance run in the ninth inning and the Spokane Indians held on to beat the Tri-City Dust Devils 3-1 in the Northwest League regular season finale for both teams on Sunday night before 3,719 at Gesa Stadium.

Michael Olt put Spokane (21-17) on the board in the first, singling home Jared Hoying.

Joshua Powers' RBI single gave Tri-City (13-25) its first run in the eighth.

Spokane starter Tim Stanford struck out five and walked one in his seven scoreless innings.

• The Indians travel to Yakima tonight for Game 1 of the Northwest League playoffs.

The Indians will then host the Bears in Game 2 and Game 3 (if necessary) of the first round best-of-3 East Division series at Avista Stadium on Tuesday and Wednesday.

If the Indians win the series, they will host the first game of the best-of-3 Northwest League Championship series on Thursday. Everett and Vancouver are playing for the West Division title.

The Indians are seeking their second league title in three years.
