Post Falls rolls past Caldwell in opener

CALDWELL - Matt Lickfold was 10 of 11 for 254 yards and three touchdowns passing as the Post Falls Trojans defeated the Caldwell Cougars in their season opener on Thursday night.

"We came out firing on all cylinders tonight," Post Falls coach Jeff Hinz said. "We did a really good job of spreading the ball around."

Post Falls scored three touchdowns on their first seven plays from scrimmage.

Post Falls forced four turnovers, three coming via interceptions by Johnny Askew, Damon Gonzales and Austin Hensley.

"Our defense played exceptionally well tonight," Hinz said. "They gave us really good field position early in the game and got us going with some good field position to start things off."

Post Falls faces Centennial, British Columbia, in Ellensburg, Wash., next Saturday.
