Delilah Mary Philippi, 81

| September 2, 2010 5:22 AM

Delilah died Aug. 31, 2010, at the age of 81. She was fortunate to have a niece, Susan Eavenson, take care of her enabling her to remain in her home until her death.

She was born in Leola, S.D., June 4, 1929, to John J. and Anna Louise (Bitzer) Jacober.

1933 was the year that the Jacober family moved to Monroe, Wash., where Delilah finished her high school education.

On Feb. 3, 1950, she married Melvin J. Neiffer. They made their home in Greenwood District in Seattle. They had a son, Melvin Jr. on July 22, 1951. They moved to Idaho in 1957.

Delilah married Edward Phillipi on Nov. 2, 1968, and lived in the home they purchased and resided there until his death.

Her husband, Edward, preceded her in death in 1992 along with her beloved son on Jan. 23, 2004.

Others preceding her were her parents and three sisters, Mildred Pantelef in 1998, Verna McLean in 2009 and Helen Sharp in 2009 and two brothers, Herbert in 1982 and Lester Lloyd known as "Sonny" at the age of 3, three nieces and two nephews and two stepdaughters and one daughter-in-law.

Her church family of the Post Falls Seventh-day Church was a very important part of her life. She talked about them with great affection. She will be missed very much by her family and friends. Her faith in God has given us a great example to live by.

Memorial contributions can be sent to Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Post Falls.
