SANDPOINT - Adam Borsheim and Drew Morgan scored two goals apiece as the Coeur d'Alene Vikings defeated the Sandpoint Bulldogs 5-3 in a nonleague match on Wednesday at Centennial Field.

"(Adam) Borsheim is a handful, a tough kid to defend," Sandpoint coach Adam Tajan said. "That's a good team that took advantage of their opportunities, and we didn't make it easy on ourselves with some defensive breakdowns. We'll learn from it and bounce back."

Sandpoint's Shane Stanley scored to give the Bulldogs a 3-2 lead at the start of the second half, but the Vikings responded with three unanswered goals.

"Our distribution in the midfield was the key to the game," Coeur d'Alene coach Jeff Lake said. "We switched the ball today and you can see it in our assists."

Coeur d'Alene (3-0-1) travels to Moscow on Saturday.

Lakeland forward Fabian Kipper picked up his second yellow card for tripping, forcing the Hawks to alter their lineup.

"He's probably our strongest defender," Haynes said. "That definitely changed the momentum of the match."
