KTEC: Pay now and pay later

| September 1, 2010 10:00 PM

Now that our elected officials and some key business men have conned the voters into passing funding for the building of KTEC, it's time for them to figure out how we are going to pay for the instructor's, buses and the daily transport of students from every high school, maintenance and upkeep of the facility and the grounds.

Do we really need a $10 million facility or would one of the many empty commercial buildings suffice? How are the supplies such as welders, tools, building products and all the nursing equipment and books going to be paid for? How about letting the people that pitched the idea in the first place pay for the stocking of needed items and continued upkeep?

I am not against this idea. I am against the cost. Oh yeah, by the way there is already programs in place for high school kids at NIC called dual enrollment that cover all the same subjects except maybe construction. Imagine that.
