Elbirteen Pearson, 93

| November 29, 2010 1:46 PM

Elbirteen "Teen" Vivian Pearson, 93, passed away at Life Care Center in Coeur d'Alene on Nov. 26, 2010. Mom, we will all really miss you, you have been so special to so many. Teen was born Aug. 23, 1917, in Mt. Idaho, Idaho County, to Viola and Roy Martin. She was the oldest of eight children.

She married Kenneth Dow Pearson on May 16, 1936, in Spokane, Wash. They had four children and moved to Coeur d'Alene in 1949. She was a member of the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ and the Sew In Love Ladies Group. She loved to cook, garden and travel, and would be ready to go at the drop of a needle. She was always ready to go, even the time she was in Brazil with her daughter and husband, going through the jungle and up the Amazon River or in the Out Back of Australia.

While she was married she worked side by side with her husband in many different businesses. Her final years were spent keeping her house and yard in Dalton Gardens. She enjoyed eating out with her friends. Most of all she loved her family and church family.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Shirley Pearson of Spokane; her son, Larry Pearson of Seattle, Wash.; her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Don Rude of Dalton Gardens; 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1991; her daughter, Anita Haman in 2004; and her brothers and sisters.

The visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d'Alene Chapel. A celebration of her beautiful and long life will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at the Dalton Gardens Church of Christ. Teen's grandson, Jim Rude will be officiating. Burial will follow at Coeur d'Alene Memorial Gardens.

Per Teen's request, donations may be made to the Coeur d'Alene Christian School Scholarship Fund. Thank you to Auburn Crest Hospice, Fairwinds and Life Care Center of Coeur d'Alene.
