NIC teams win, raise money

COLLEGE

COEUR d'ALENE - Sophomore guard Michael Hale had 18 points and six assists as the top-ranked North Idaho Cardinal men's basketball team defeated the North Idaho All-Stars 101-69 in a nonconference matchup on Saturday at Christianson Gymnasium.

"I thought we ran the floor well tonight," NIC coach Jared Phay said. "We did what we needed to do to get a win. The team played well as a group."

Tyrone White had 16 points and five rebounds for NIC (9-0), which hosts the Spokane All-Stars on Tuesday. Idris Lasisi had 13 points and DeAndre Taylor finished with 11.

Dan Bright had 17 points, followed by Winston Brooks with 14 points for the All-Stars.

Both men's and women's games served as a fundraiser for the Coeur d'Alene Special Olympics, with $900 being donated.

COEUR d'ALENE - Sophomore Tugce Canitez had a double-double with 21 points and 12 rebounds as the third-ranked Cardinals defeated the Idaho All-Stars on Saturday at Christianson Gymnasium.

Camille Reynolds had 14 points and three steals as the Cardinals took a 56-10 halftime lead.

Cassie Pilkinton had six points for the Idaho All-Stars.

NIC (10-0) opens Scenic West Athletic Conference play at Snow on Dec. 10.
