Post Falls man holds lead in adult division

SANDPOINT - With warmer temperatures on the horizon and the holiday in the rearview mirror, Lake Pend Oreille Idaho Club's Thanksgiving Derby heated up as a strong day on the lake saw a lot of changes on the leader board.

In the rainbow trout division, Richard Granberg of Center Harbor, N.H., caught a 14-pound, 4-ounce rainbow Friday that measured 31 1/2 inches long - enough to claim second spot in the division.

Roy Stokes of Post Falls continued to hold the lead in the adult rainbow trout standings with a 15-pound, 13-ounce fish that was 33 inches long that was caught opening weekend.

Dave Ivy of Sagle still dropped to third in the rainbow trout division with a 13-pound, 12-ounce trout caught Sunday of opening weekend. Marc Torre of Spokane was in fourth with a 12-pound, 15-ounce rainbow that is 30 inches.

While Ivy continued to hold the lead in the mackinaw division with a 10-pound, 2-ounce mackinaw that measured 32 inches, the rest of the division was all new with two anglers netting big fish.

John Cosolito of Sandpoint hooked a 9-pound, 12-ounce laker that measures 30 inches to claim second spot in the division. Scott Plue of Sandpoint dropped to third with a 9-pound, 8-ounce mackinaw that measured 30 inches. Bert Dennett of Hope caught a 5-pound, 12-ounce mackinaw that measured 26 inches to nail down the fourth spot.

Tritan Roslak of Newman Lake, Wash., netted a 7-pound, 2-ounce rainbow trout to claim top spot in the youth division (9 to 13 years old). In the eight-and-under youth division, Collin Ingram of West Haven maintained the top spot with a 1-pound, 6-ounce rainbow trout.
