Chiefs rally, but fall at Kamloops in shootout
KAMLOOPS, British Columbia - Kamloops outscored Spokane 2-0 in a shootout and the Blazers defeated the Chiefs 4-3 in Western Hockey League action Friday at the Interior Savings Centre.
Former Coeur d'Alene Laker Tyler Johnson scored a shorthanded goal midway through the second period to pull the Chiefs within 2-1.
Johnson scored three minutes into the third to tie the game at 2 and Jerad Cowan scored three minutes later to give Spokane a 3-2 lead.
Kamloops' Dylan Willick scored with 1:20 remaining in regulation to send the game into overtime.
Spokane (12-9-1-2, 27 points) hosts Kelowna at the Spokane Arena tonight at 7.
