Stephen L. Dykes, 49, passed away on Nov., 22, 2010. He was born Dec. 24, 1960, in Riverside, Calif., to Jimmie and Donna Dykes. He was a star athlete at La Sierra High School, where he made many long-lasting friendships. He worked in the grocery business in California and Idaho for more than 30 years. He loved working at Albertsons in Hayden. He enjoyed conversations with the customers and the camraderie of the associates.

He married Roxanne in 1988 and they had 3 beautiful children. They moved to Hayden in 2005 to enjoy the beautiful Northwest. Steve was an awesome bowler. He looked forward to his Monday night bowling league and his fellow bowlers. Steve loved to fish. He loved taking his friends on fishing trips and exploring the local area for hidden lakes and streams. He loved Idaho because there seemed to be a lake or river "down every street."

He leaves behind his wife, Roxanne Dykes, of Hayden, son, Aaron, daughters Veronica and Helena, of Hayden; his parents Jimmie and Donna Dykes, of Cathedral City, Calif.; brother Clarence Dykes of Banning, Calif.; his grandmother Bonnie Dykes of Riverside, Calif., and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Steve loved his family and was very proud of his three children. He loved them so much, he moved them to Idaho so they could have a better life. We will miss his gentle and caring spirit and his beautiful smile.
